The theme for the month is Wilderness Survival. That's perfect for our preparation for Klondike this year. So far eight boys have stated interest in being on the team. That's a perfect number for one sled.
Our first troop meeting back will be January 6th at 7pm. Remember, Class A uniform for meetings. Pancake breakfast is January 19th from 8-11am. William, Kacper, and Ryan have all volunteered for this date. Please make arrangements for a replacement if they cannot make this date. The Summer Camp Parents Meeting will be on January 24th at 7pm at the Scout Building. Please make sure to attend if your son plans on returning to summer camp this year. All of the information you need will be provided at this meeting. Klondike will be on January 25th for the boys who said they were interested in competing. Please make sure to check the website each week (maybe each Monday morning) to check for any additions, edits, or changes to the calendar. It's time for the annual Christmas part at Barcelona's in Garfield, NJ
If you want to car pool, then you should meet at the scout building at 6:30pm to organize and leave by 6:45pm. Otherwise you can drop of your son at 7pm at 38 Harrison Ave, Garfield, NJ 07062. The boys had a yummy meeting last night. The theme for the month is cooking so they made a banana, brown sugar, and cinnamon cake in a dutch oven over coals. The meal was completely prepared by and cooked by the boys. It was pretty unanimous "it was really good"! Donate at Troop 114's Toy Drive! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 3rd at 3:30pm!! A helicopter will be landing at Midland school. The only way this won't happen is if the weather is bad or if they get a call while they are in transit because they would need to be the first responders. |
