All you have to do is view some of the photos on this site and you will see how much fun Scouting can be. Watch and share this video with friends. We could always use more Scouts! We're getting ready to get back into the Boy Scout groove for the upcoming year. This year we will have THREE patrols going strong. The Owls, Ferrets, and the new Flaming Arrows. With the new patrol we'd like to see a few more boys join the patrol even if they missed meetings at the end of last year.
We have a lot of fun activities planned for all the patrols, some really great volunteering opportunities in our community, and a few fundraisers to help with camping trip costs. Please mark your calendar for a very important date. Our Awards night and Parents meeting will be held on September 29th at 7pm in the Senior Center. You don't want to miss it. For a tentative peek at what we have planned for the whole year (yes, the whole year) visit the website homepage at http://troop114rp.org and look at the calendar. July 12th - Car wash! Come on down and join the American Legion Riders and the Fire Department as they use the BIG hose to wet down the cars and we assist in the suds and drying routine. We had a great time last year and we need as much help as we can get this year. Proceeds to to the American Legion Legacy fund. For more information on this fund for the children of the men and women who serve our country go here.

It takes the boys about 30 minutes, or less. It's a great service to our community. The boys should pack toothbrush and toothpaste, mess kit, their scouting uniform (for the memorial day parade), and they can bring a game if they would like just in case they are not interested in trying risk or if the game is full. Each boy is asked to bring a snack or drink for their patrol. The Patrol leaders have been reaching out to their patrol members who are attending the Night at the Museum. If they haven't heard from their leader yet they should be by tomorrow with what they recommend to bring. Example: Chips, cookies, soda, juice, graham crackers, marshmallow, chocolate, etc... Memorial Day Parade is on Monday, May 26th at 11:30am. If a scout is not sleeping over, then he should meet us to march in the parade on Monday morning at 10am at the scout building. We will go over the flag holding procedure and instructions and leaving shortly thereafter. Full Class A uniform should be worn for the parade. At our parents meeting in January we noted that today is our troop deadline for the summer camp early bird pricing. Please drop off your check to Jon Buyck, or Willie Sanchez by the end of day April 1st.
